Formed in 1994, Flemings Safety Pte Ltd began its business by making cotton and polyester work apparel. The company noticed the growing need for reliably sewn protective apparel in the region and started focusing on the production of Fire Retardant (FR) work-wear in 1995.
 
Since then, Flemings Safety has advanced its position as the pioneer and most professionally run FR apparel maker and supplier in Singapore. At one stage the company was one of DuPont’s few and earliest authorized Nomex® converters in the region before the industry became deregulated and globalized. Currently, the company has the most extensive experience and brand recognition in the FR work-wear industry in Singapore. It has worked with several FR fabrics including Nomex®, Proban®, Indura® and Firewear®. Part of the company’s success is attributed to its strong relations with very well established FR fabric weavers and knitters in the US, Europe and East Asia.
 
Since having DuPont Singapore as its first major customer in 1995, Flemings Safety has added SHELL, Seraya Chemicals, Merck Sharp & Dohm, Singapore Aromatics, Vopak, ExxonMobil and Schlumberger to its growing list of clients and users. Flemings Safety’ coveralls, lab-coats and shirt & pants are now distributed to and worn in some 40 countries throughout the world.
