Fire Retardant Garment Care
Typically, fire retardant (FR) garments will be able to withstand common laundry and wash processes. However, adhering of certain precautions may ensure the maximum effectiveness of your protective equipment. Always ensure that your FR garments are properly maintained and cared for.
Tips and Tricks:
- Follow manufacturer care instructions when washing FR garments (See inside of garment).
- Wash your new FR garment prior to first wear.
- Wash your FR garment following each wear.
- Separate FR garments from Non-FR garments when washing.
- Avoid strong chemical agents.
- Avoid line-drying under direct sunlight.
- Prior to wearing, ensure your FR garments are in clean and serviceable condition.
- For garment repair, ensure the use of components that bear similar fire retardant properties.
